Sweet Milk Pudding with Butter

Qumështori is a traditional Albanian dessert, simple and soft, that brings the taste of childhood. With AOOS butter, the texture becomes creamier and the aroma richer. It can be served as a dessert after a meal or for breakfast.

What will you need?

  • Hand whisk (or wire whisk)

Ingredients

  • 1 liter milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 50 g AOOS butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Preparing the mixture:
    In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until fully dissolved. Add the flour and vanilla, mix, then gradually add the milk while stirring to prevent lumps.
  2. Baking:
    Grease a baking dish with AOOS butter and pour in the mixture. Drizzle the remaining butter over the top.
  3. Furnace:
    Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30–35 minutes, until the surface turns golden and the inside is lightly set.
  4. Service:
    Let it cool and serve cut into pieces. You can serve it with a little powdered sugar on top or even chilled from the refrigerator.
